Migrant Working Group Coordinator

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a consultant to coordinate the Migrant Response Working Group in Lebanon. Reporting to the Protection Programme Manager and working closely with the Head of Programmes, the role requires autonomous operation while aligning with IOM and inter‑agency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate monthly coordination meetings of the Migrant Working Group and related coordination mechanisms.
• Organise regular meetings with sector partners, migrant‑led organisations, national authorities, HCT members and donors.
• Act as the primary coordination interface with UN agencies, national authorities and other in‑country mechanisms on humanitarian assistance to migrants.
• Support capacity‑building for the Working Group, protection sector partners and national authorities.
• Ensure migrants’ needs are mainstreamed across health, nutrition, education, food security, child protection and GBV sectors.
• Develop strategic relationships with civil society, research institutions and interest groups.
• Facilitate donor engagement, advocate for funding, and coordinate donor missions.
• Provide leadership for guidance, policy adaptation, contingency plans, guidelines and technical standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian coordination, preferably in migration or protection contexts.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong inter‑agency collaboration.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with UN agencies, national authorities and donors.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian response mechanisms and sector mainstreaming.
