Development of Guidebook on Personal Data Protection Law (Jordan)

About the role

UN‑ESCWA is seeking an experienced legal consultant to develop a comprehensive guidebook on Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law. The consultant will produce a detailed Arabic report, ensuring high‑quality documentation that meets ESCWA’s standards for originality and formatting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a minimum 30‑page guidebook in Arabic, including a 2‑4 page executive summary.
• Format the document in MS‑Word (.docx) with an automatically updated table of contents, list of tables and figures.
• Reference all sources clearly within the text and provide a bibliography at the end.
• Submit scanned copies of the first page of each referenced book, report, or bulletin.
• Ensure plagiarism does not exceed 20 % of the total pages, using ESCWA‑approved tools.
• Maintain confidentiality; do not disclose any content without ESCWA and MoDEE permission.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in data‑protection legislation, preferably with experience in Jordan or the Middle‑East.
• Strong research and academic writing skills in Arabic.
• Familiarity with UN or international organization reporting standards.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS‑Word document formatting.
• Ability to conduct thorough legal research and citation management.
