Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Chedid Capital, a leading investment group in insurance and reinsurance, seeks a hands‑on Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal guidance across its international operations. You will work with a dynamic team of 1,700 professionals across 64 subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on insurance and reinsurance broking activities, reviewing, drafting and negotiating related agreements while addressing regulatory considerations.
• Support incorporation, licensing, restructuring and ongoing regulatory matters for both regulated and non‑regulated entities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist operational teams with day‑to‑day legal concerns and provide employment and HR‑related advice, including contract drafting and labor law compliance.
• Contribute to M&A and strategic transactions through due diligence, drafting, negotiating and post‑closing integration.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, service, vendor agreements, NDAs and other operational contracts.
• Coordinate incorporation and licensing of regulated companies, liaising with local advisors and authorities.
• Support corporate governance tasks such as drafting resolutions, board and shareholder minutes, and maintaining statutory records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (required); Master’s in Law or MBA (preferred).
• 9+ years of relevant experience in private practice and in‑house roles across multiple jurisdictions (Middle East, Africa, Europe, emerging markets).
• Fluency in Arabic, English and French (spoken and written).
• Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, contract drafting, regulatory matters and corporate governance.
