Researcher – Transport & Logistics (Individual Contractor)

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is seeking an Individual Contractor to support its Institute for Governance and Management (IGM) on transport and logistics research. The contractor will generate evidence‑based insights to guide policy and operational decisions across the Arab region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research, data collection and analysis on transport and logistics activities in the Arab region.
• Prepare reports, policy briefs, technical outputs, statistical tables and graphs in line with IGM standards.
• Undertake specific analyses on selected transport‑related subjects and assist with project management tasks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to presentations and translate transport‑related deliverables.
• Perform any other tasks required by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in transport, road safety or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in research, data collection and analysis.
• Experience with transport, logistics and road‑safety issues in the Arab region is desirable.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (speaking, reading, writing, understanding).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
