Junior Hardware Engineer – Schematic Design & PCB Layout

About the role

A Hardware Design team is looking for a motivated Junior Hardware Engineer to support schematic design, PCB layout, hardware testing, debugging and design documentation. The role suits an early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience in electronic hardware design and development, working alongside experienced engineers throughout product development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and reviewing electronic schematics based on design requirements.
• Support PCB layout, including component placement, routing and design rule checks.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, including design files, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and revision records.
• Support prototype bring-up, testing, debugging and validation.
• Work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing and Quality Assurance, to ensure design quality and manufacturability.
• Follow established engineering standards, processes and documentation practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Good understanding of electronics fundamentals, including digital, analog and power circuits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly and work well in a team.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with disciplined technical documentation.
• Commitment to product quality, customer success, engineering rigor and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of schematic capture tools such as OrCAD or similar.
• Familiarity with PCB layout principles, routing and design rules.
• Preferred: exposure to signal integrity and high-speed design concepts.
• Preferred: familiarity with oscilloscopes, VNAs, multimeters and other test equipment; academic projects, internships or hands-on hardware design experience are a plus.
