Financial Controller – Iraq

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Finance & Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and team leadership. Working closely with the CFO, the successful candidate will drive financial excellence, support strategic decision‑making, and coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams for smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies, including verification of payment vouchers.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors.
• Supervise and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse departments to ensure documentation accuracy and smooth operational flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including managerial responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
