Shipping and Clearance Officer

About the role

Daher Foods, an international FMCG company with roots in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley, is looking for a Shipping and Clearance Officer. The role manages and coordinates import and export logistics, customs clearance and shipping documentation, ensuring goods move in a timely, compliant and cost-effective way while working with freight forwarders, customs authorities and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage shipping, customs clearance and logistics for imported and exported goods, coordinating with freight forwarders, transporters, shipping lines and clearing agents.
• Review and verify shipping and customs documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and insurance documents, and ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs laws.
• Track shipments from origin to destination and work with the procurement and Export team so that supplier invoices, purchase orders and shipping documents match.
• Resolve shipment delays and clearance issues, and handle claims for damaged, short or lost shipments with insurers or logistics partners.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs duties and taxes, and submit related reports.
• Analyze shipping costs, routes and clearance procedures and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics or customs clearance, preferably in FMCG or industrial environments.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, spoken and written.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures and trade compliance.
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping documentation.
• Proficiency in logistics tracking systems, ERP platforms and MS Office.
• Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines and government entities.
• Knowledge of freight rates, cargo insurance and handling procedures.
