Procurement Associate G6

About the role

The Procurement Associate G6 provides coordination, administrative and research support for procurement activities at WFP Lebanon, ensuring the efficient and compliant acquisition of goods and services. Working under the direct supervision of the head of procurement, the role covers procurement planning, sourcing, contract management, market analysis, supplier relationship management and process improvement, with technical guidance and supervision of support staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational coordination and administrative support for procurement projects and activities.
• Identify and recommend potential suppliers, compile data and documents to support supplier selection, and follow standard processes.
• Review, record and prioritise purchasing requests and support requisitioners in obtaining goods and services at the lowest cost.
• Contribute to negotiations with new suppliers on terms and conditions, alongside a senior officer.
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts and supporting documentation for approval, and approve purchases within delegated authority.
• Resolve issues related to delivered goods, liaising with all parties and following standard processes.
• Research, collect and analyse data to produce reports for Procurement Officers and stakeholders, and maintain accurate databases and records.
• Maintain relationships with internal counterparts so procurement aligns with wider programmes.
• Supervise support staff, giving practical advice and guidance.
• Follow emergency preparedness practices to help WFP respond quickly to crises.

Required profile

• Secondary school education; a university degree in supply chain, business management or finance is a plus.
• At least six years of progressively responsible experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic; knowledge of French is an added advantage.
• Experience researching suppliers and coordinating with retailers, wholesalers and traders, including due diligence and capability assessment.
• Experience in procurement-related analysis such as spend analysis, market analysis, benchmarking, cost saving and contract utilization.
• Experience developing and presenting procurement reports.
