Senior Accountant – Lebanon

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting firm in Lebanon. The role involves overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supervising junior staff to ensure accurate and timely financial information for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily accounting and financial operations for assigned clients and businesses.
• Supervise junior accountants, reviewing the quality and completeness of their work.
• Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately recorded, classified, supported, approved, and filed.
• Prepare and review supplier, customer, bank, cash, and other account reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, outstanding balances, advances, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Support and review payroll‑related accounting entries and schedules.
• Maintain and review fixed‑asset registers, additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
• Participate in inventory counts and investigate significant discrepancies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing procedures and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare management reports, financial summaries, and analytical schedules.
• Identify unusual variances, accounting discrepancies, and financial risks, providing clear explanations.
• Support external auditors, tax consultants, and management with required schedules and information.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, approval authorities, and accounting procedures.
• Coordinate with clients, management, HR, suppliers, and other departments to obtain necessary financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month‑end closing.
• Proven experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Good knowledge of Lebanese accounting and taxation requirements.
