Senior Accountant

About the role

OSCAR, a leading company in curtains, textiles and furniture, is seeking a Senior Accountant with at least five years of experience. The role involves analysing past transactions, providing reliable financial information, auditing accounts and supporting the company’s overall financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements in line with legal and company guidelines.
• Review expenses, payroll records and related documentation.
• Create and analyse liability, asset and capital accounts using electronic data.
• Summarise and prepare financial status reports, profit and loss statements and other required reports.
• Monitor and maintain a new audit system by implementing updated policies and procedures.
• Guide junior accountants and staff, answering questions and coordinating informational sessions.
• Oversee account reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting to relevant parties.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliation for audit preparation.
• Working knowledge of non‑profit tax filing and compliance at state and federal levels.
• Proven leadership ability, supervising up to ten junior staff members.
• Strong understanding of financial application security and confidentiality policies.
• Excellent communication skills, accuracy, organization and ability to thrive in a high‑volume environment.
• Capability to support other departments and coordinate training sessions.
