Experienced Tax Preparer

About the role

Jackson Hewitt is seeking seasonal Experienced Tax Preparers to guide clients through complex tax filings with integrity and expertise. This role involves preparing multi‑year, multi‑state returns, providing audit support, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file individual, trust, partnership, and multi‑state tax returns accurately.
• Conduct face‑to‑face tax interviews and answer client calls via the national call center.
• Provide IRS audit support and future tax planning advice.
• Collect and process client payments, ensuring timely deposits.
• Support marketing and business generation efforts, mentor teammates, and act as a lead when needed.

Required profile

• 2+ seasons of tax preparation experience.
• Passion for extraordinary customer service and strong communication skills.
• Successful completion of Jackson Hewitt Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Tax preparation (individual, trust, partnership).
• PTIN certification.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent license (optional bonus).
