Lead Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Lead Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will head the design, deployment, and optimisation of enterprise‑grade data centre facilities and hybrid cloud environments. You will ensure high availability, scalability, security and compliance across physical and virtual infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design Tier II‑IV data centres, including power, cooling, rack layout, structured cabling and redundancy.
• Define compute, storage, virtualization and network architectures for on‑premise and cloud workloads.
• Develop hybrid cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, AWS and VMware platforms.
• Create containerisation and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design disaster‑recovery, backup, fail‑over and business‑continuity solutions.
• Produce detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams and bill‑of‑materials.
• Conduct capacity planning, performance optimisation and security assessments.
• Oversee deployment, commissioning and integration of data centre and cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate vendors and lead technical reviews for hardware and software solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute, TIA‑942, ISO 27001, NIST and other cybersecurity standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in data centre engineering, cloud infrastructure and virtualization.
• Proven experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, VMware).
• Strong knowledge of disaster‑recovery, business continuity and high‑availability architectures.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
