Junior Data Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join the fast‑paced Money Market Dealing Department. This entry‑level position is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career professional with strong numerical and analytical abilities, who will support traders and the wider trading team.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse large volumes of trading, financial and operational data.
• Prepare, maintain and enhance Excel‑based reports, dashboards and analytical tools.
• Monitor trading activity, identify trends, anomalies and unusual patterns.
• Perform statistical and quantitative analysis to inform trading and management decisions.
• Produce daily, weekly and ad‑hoc reports for the Trading Department and senior management.
• Validate data for accuracy, consistency and completeness; reconcile differences between datasets.
• Develop and improve spreadsheets, formulas, models and automate repetitive reporting processes.
• Work with multiple data sources to ensure reliable datasets and respond quickly to ad‑hoc analytical requests.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong numerical and analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and thrive in a high‑volume trading environment.
• Curious and proactive in investigating data discrepancies.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, PivotTables, lookups, data manipulation).
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, Python or VBA is an advantage.
• Understanding of basic statistics and quantitative concepts.
