Specification Sales Specialist – Construction Market

About the role

The Specification Salesperson reports to the Local Sales Manager and is responsible for driving business growth by engaging with key decision‑makers in the design and construction industry, ensuring Colortek products are specified in projects.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Engage with existing and potential clients to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with design professionals to have Colortek products specified in upcoming projects.
• Present product offerings to architects and interior designers and address their specific needs.
• Create awareness and develop training programs for decision‑makers across the value chain.
• Maintain dialogue throughout project stages to anticipate demand and manage product planning.
• Map end‑users for decorative finishes and obtain draft design specifications to propose changes.

Required profile

• BA or MA in Interior Design, Business Marketing or related fields.
• Proven experience in specification sales or a similar role within the design and construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction projects, design processes and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Results‑oriented with a track record of achieving sales targets.
• Willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Ability to read and understand product data sheets and material safety data sheets.
