Sea Freight Manager

About the role

GTS, a leading freight forwarding and logistics company offering sea, air and land transport, customs brokerage, warehousing and supply chain solutions, is looking for an experienced Sea Freight Manager to oversee and expand its ocean freight operations. The manager handles import and export sea freight, maintains carrier relationships, optimises efficiency and ensures excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate rates and service agreements with shipping lines and overseas agents
• Manage daily import and export sea freight operations
• Oversee booking, documentation and shipment execution
• Monitor profitability and operational performance
• Lead and mentor the sea freight operations team
• Resolve shipment issues and customer escalations
• Develop new business opportunities in ocean freight

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding
• Experience managing operational teams
• Strong knowledge of shipping lines, freight rates and international trade
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
