Lead Specialist - Credit

About the role

The Lead Specialist – Credit is responsible for applying the company's credit and collection policies while implementing internal controls. The role balances risk mitigation with high‑level customer service and works closely with sales, finance and legal teams to protect the organization’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evaluate credit limits for customers using audited financial statements, asset valuations and risk assessments.
• Monitor receivables against sales forecasts, payment terms and backlog, and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Achieve periodic cash‑collection targets and ensure timely processing of outstanding invoices.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve unpaid debts and oversee legal actions when required.
• Approve credit lines within approved insurance limits and manage LC/BG transactions to minimise costs and risks.
• Maintain regular customer contact, conduct credit reviews and collect necessary financial information.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests and obtain bi‑annual customer balance confirmations.
• Prepare periodic MIS and data‑management reports for the Direct Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in credit management, collections or accounts receivable.
• Proven experience managing regional or multi‑country credit operations in a multinational environment.
• Strong background in credit risk assessment, setting credit limits and negotiating commercial terms.
• Ability to influence commercial decisions and enforce regional credit policies.
