Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

E2C International is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage monthly close activities and maintain accurate, tax‑ready books for multi‑entity and founder‑owned businesses. This remote, full‑time independent contractor position requires strong QuickBooks Online expertise and the ability to clean up complex books.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close for a portfolio of client entities, reconciling every bank, card, loan, and investment account.
• Deliver tax‑ready books with accruals, prepaids, fixed‑asset schedules, owner distributions versus loans, and clean intercompany balances.
• Clean up inherited books and document issues and resolutions.
• Develop the firm’s close checklist, chart‑of‑accounts standard, and document‑request process.
• Work within bank feeds, receipt capture, categorization rules, and AI‑assisted workflows, auditing system outputs.

Required profile

• 4+ years of full‑charge bookkeeping with sole responsibility for a close.
• Experience with multi‑entity or intercompany books, preferably in professional services, real estate, or founder‑owned businesses.
• Background working with or alongside a tax firm and understanding year‑end preparer needs.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (ProAdvisor certification preferred).
• Bank feed management, receipt capture, and categorization rules.
• AI‑assisted accounting tools and workflow auditing.
• Familiarity with Canopy, Claude, or Google Workspace.
