Accounting & Auditing Consultant – Abidjan

About the role

The Chief Accountant / Auditor will lead accounting and financial reporting functions for client entities across Africa, ensuring compliance with best practices and SD Group policies. The role involves delivering the APA scope, managing client accounting teams, and providing strategic financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for client entities and internal operations.
• Develop, implement, and continuously enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Plan, execute, and supervise internal audit and financial review engagements across multiple client projects and locations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory regulations, tax requirements, and organizational policies.
• Provide financial, accounting, and audit advisory services to clients, supporting the setup and optimisation of their financial management and reporting structures.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and audit team members and deliver training to client finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and auditing with proven leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, financial regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication, presentation and client relationship management skills.
• Fluency in English and French.
