Financial Internal Auditor – Nigeria

About the role

The Financial Internal Auditor will lead financial governance, internal audit, and control functions across multi‑location retail and manufacturing operations in Nigeria. Acting as the sole finance control function, the role ensures robust internal controls, accurate reporting, operational discipline, and risk mitigation throughout the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end financial governance across all retail showrooms and manufacturing sites.
• Establish, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks and ensure compliance with financial policies and approval hierarchies.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect company assets.
• Direct internal audit activities covering cash handling, inventory valuation, procurement cycles, payroll accuracy, and expense processes.
• Report audit findings and recommend corrective actions to improve controls.
• Analyze financial performance at entity, showroom, and departmental levels, performing variance analysis and identifying cost‑leakage opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and showroom managers to embed financial controls into daily activities.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve SOPs, standardising processes across all locations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, and audit roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls and internal audit principles.
