Senior Database Administrator

About the role

GlobeMed Group, the leading Healthcare Benefits Management company in the MENA region, is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to strengthen technical support for its database environment. The role involves overseeing database development, implementing new technologies, and providing strategic IT insight aligned with business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure new database systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance.
• Deploy scripts and programs provided by the ICT team.
• Maintain and update user guides and system manuals.
• Perform daily data maintenance, backups, recovery, and failover testing.
• Report critical issues to supervisors and local management.
• Document the company’s database environment and manage all database objects (tables, indexes, procedures, etc.).

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration; experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as OCP or MCSD are advantageous.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and change control procedures.

Required skills

• Oracle Database Administration.

• Performance tuning and analysis.
