Senior Database Administrator

About the role

GlobeMed Group, the leading Healthcare Benefits Management company in the MENA region, is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to strengthen the technical support of its database environment. You will work closely with the Database Manager to ensure databases are reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain new database instances.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct tuning and performance analysis.
• Deploy scripts and programs provided by ICT and maintain user guides and manuals.
• Perform daily data maintenance, backups, recovery, and failover testing.
• Document the company’s database environment and manage all database objects (tables, indexes, procedures, etc.).
• Develop basic database scripts and shell commands.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle database administration; experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OCP, MCSD) are advantageous.
• Familiarity with reporting/query tools, high‑availability solutions, data replication, and data security.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and change control procedures is a plus.
