Psychologist

About the role

The Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA) Juvenile Protection Division seeks a qualified Psychologist to provide safe, ethical, child‑centred and trauma‑informed psychological and psychosocial support. Working on‑site, you will collaborate closely with MOSA’s child protection staff and deliver immediate assistance to children and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) and basic helping skills to children and caregivers.
• Integrate psychological support within child protection case management, including psychosocial assessments, emotional stabilization, supportive counselling and structured referrals.
• Provide technical guidance, capacity‑building and coordination to MOSA social workers, ensuring alignment with National Child Protection SOPs.
• Conduct specialised psychosocial assessments for case planning and submit assessment reports to juvenile judges as required.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions while respecting confidentiality and informed consent.
• Adapt working hours and duties during major humanitarian emergencies.

Required profile

• Licensed psychologist with experience in child and adolescent mental health.
• Familiarity with trauma‑informed care and child protection contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with social workers, judges and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to provide short‑term interventions and adhere to ethical standards.
