Precertification Officer – Medical Authorization

About the role

The Precertification Officer ensures that medical treatments requested by external parties are eligible, necessary, appropriate and cost‑effective. Acting as a liaison between clients, medical providers and internal teams, the officer delivers high‑quality service and timely authorization decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review requests from external parties, verify eligibility and issue treatment authorizations.
• Complete authorization data in the TATSH system according to policy wording and medical reports.
• Collaborate closely with the Precertification Doctor and Team Leader for complex or high‑cost cases requiring medical approval.
• Communicate authorization details to clients, providing supportive medical and procedural advice.
• Report complaints and document communication issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of insured member data and follow internal claims procedures.
• Assist patients on‑site, manage billing information, and attend regular training sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the health‑care industry (TPA, insurance, hospital or medical centre).
• Physically fit to perform field duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the TATSH authorization system.
