About the role
ESCWA is seeking a motivated intern to support its research on ageing and migration in the Arab region. The placement is based in Beirut and lasts up to six months, offering hands‑on experience in policy analysis within the United Nations system.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyse migration policies, laws and regulations across Arab countries.
- Summarise findings and populate ESCWA’s migration‑policy database.
- Provide substantive support to analytical and policy work on ageing and migration.
- Assist in the preparation of meetings, events and related documentation.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a graduate programme, in the final year of a bachelor’s programme, or a recent university graduate.
- Computer literate with proficiency in standard software applications.
- Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to its ideals.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Required skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
