Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the Lebanon Country Office of Save the Children International in delivering accurate and timely financial operations. The role involves processing payments, managing petty cash, handling banking matters, and maintaining comprehensive financial records while ensuring compliance with organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process beneficiary and supplier payments in line with SCI procedures and supporting documentation.
• Handle NSSF and income tax payments, ensuring timely completion and proper records.
• Prepare and post journal entries and other required financial adjustments.
• Manage USD and LBP petty cash transactions, record them accurately, and request replenishments as needed.
• Maintain organized financial records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with SCI retention requirements.
• Act as the focal point for banking matters, liaising with banks and maintaining banking documentation.
• Review and reconcile supplier statements, following up on discrepancies.
• Process travel and staff program advances.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to finance‑related queries.
• Undertake additional finance‑related duties as assigned by the Finance Coordinator or management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in both development and humanitarian contexts.
• Willingness to adhere to child safeguarding, anti‑harassment, and other organisational policies.
