Electrical Engineer – Power Distribution

About the role

The Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution) will support the design and delivery of power distribution and electrical infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will develop concept, schematic and detailed designs that meet client requirements and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop power distribution designs, including load assessments, single‑line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable routing, earthing and lighting designs.
• Prepare concept, schematic and detailed design packages for distribution networks, substations, low‑ and medium‑voltage systems.
• Create and update design deliverables such as drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities, calculation notes and design reports.
• Coordinate electrical design requirements with civil, structural, mechanical, water, environment and architecture disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, address comments, and implement revisions.
• Support senior team members in identifying cost‑effective solutions and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Assist in documenting client feedback and incorporating approved comments.
• Help prepare progress updates and maintain design records while following quality‑control procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience in power systems, electrical infrastructure, or transmission and distribution design.
• Understanding of low‑ and medium‑voltage networks, substations, transformers, switchgear, cables and protection principles.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE and local utility standards.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
