Senior Estimation Engineer - Mechanical

About the role

The Senior Estimation Engineer – Mechanical will lead the analysis of tender documents, generate accurate quantity take‑offs and develop comprehensive pricing packages for construction projects. Working closely with project leads and cross‑functional teams, you will ensure all design requirements are captured and that pricing is delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Read, interpret and analyse tender documents, drawings and specifications to extract required data.
• Identify design requirements, flag missing information and advise the Project Lead.
• Prepare material take‑off (MTO) sheets and allocate man‑hours for each activity.
• Raise queries to clients, coordinate with internal departments and gather necessary information.
• Develop pricing sheets, prepare RFQs, evaluate vendor quotations and select the most competitive offers.
• Compile pricing summaries and present them to management for approval.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and trainees.
• Participate in progress meetings and ensure the pricing phase is closed before tender submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 4 years in tender estimation and 1 year on‑site or equivalent training.
• Strong knowledge of the construction industry across buildings, infrastructure and industrial sectors, preferably oil & gas.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic; French is a plus.
• Excellent computer skills, especially MS Office and AutoCAD; familiarity with CANDY is advantageous.
