Senior Drupal Developer

About the role

The Office of Innovation and Transformation is seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to lead the implementation, modernization, and continuous enhancement of the university’s and medical centre’s web platforms. This senior role combines deep technical expertise with leadership of architecture, development, and integration initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of AUB and AUBMC Drupal platforms, defining architecture, standards and governance.
• Develop and maintain custom Drupal modules, themes, APIs and multisite configurations.
• Integrate Drupal with enterprise systems such as IAM, SSO, ERP, analytics and other APIs.
• Ensure platform scalability, security, performance, disaster recovery and accessibility compliance.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes and technical governance.
• Collaborate with Communications, Marketing and IT teams on UX, content workflows and publishing.
• Coordinate vendors, manage sprints and oversee release management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on Drupal development experience, including large‑scale enterprise implementations.
• Proven experience with Drupal 9/10 architecture and migration projects.
• Experience in higher education, healthcare or large enterprise environments is a plus.

• Drupal 9/10, custom module development, theming and multisite architecture.
• PHP and Symfony framework.
• REST APIs, GraphQL, MySQL/MariaDB, caching technologies.
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Twig and responsive design.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling.
• Integration with IAM, SSO and ERP systems.
