Project Engineer – Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer with a civil engineering background to lead finishing works on construction projects. The role involves on‑site supervision, coordination with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule requirements. Experience on projects in Africa is a strong advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate site activities, ensuring execution aligns with design specifications, timelines, and budget.
• Monitor progress and quality of finishing works such as plastering, painting, flooring, ceiling, and interior fit‑outs.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with local construction regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs for accuracy and feasibility.
• Support procurement and material planning for finishing works.
• Attend site meetings and provide input on project planning and sequencing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a contracting company with hands‑on site execution.
• Proven track record in finishing works on mid‑ to large‑scale construction projects.
• Experience in Ghana or other African countries is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
