Procurement and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Procurement and Logistics Officer will manage supplier relationships, purchase orders, shipment coordination, inventory replenishment and delivery planning for a cosmetics and fragrance distribution business.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers, negotiate prices and terms, and process purchase orders.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents and monitor logistics performance.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct physical counts, manage expiry dates and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing and dispatch, and verify quantities against documentation.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement, inventory, shipment status and logistics costs, and ensure compliance with Zambian laws and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, logistics or inventory control, preferably in FMCG, cosmetics or retail.
• Experience with international procurement, imports and customs clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
