International Logistics Officer

About the role

The International Logistics Officer manages and coordinates international shipments by air and sea, ensuring goods move across international markets in a timely, cost-effective and compliant way. The role covers freight coordination, shipment documentation, customs clearance support and the preparation and follow-up of banking documentation for international and intercompany transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end sea and air shipments, from booking and cargo collection through to arrival, including urgent airfreight and shipment tracking
• Compare freight quotations and monitor freight costs, demurrage, detention and storage charges
• Prepare and verify shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills and certificates of origin, and follow up on amendments and missing documents
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and destination teams to meet import/export compliance
• Prepare banking documentation for international trade and intercompany transactions, including documentary collections, letters of credit and bank transfers, and liaise with Finance, Accounting, Treasury and banks
• Maintain shipment trackers and logistics databases, report on freight costs and shipment performance, and contribute to improving logistics SOPs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration or a related field
• Approximately 3-6 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, shipping coordination or supply chain operations
• Practical experience managing sea and airfreight shipments
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX / Axapta, and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with intercompany transactions and multi-entity shipping is an advantage
