Humanitarian Mine Action (NTS/EORE) Team Lead

About the role

The Humanitarian Mine Action (NTS/EORE) Team Lead oversees all Non‑Technical Survey (NTS) and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) activities within DRC’s operations in Lebanon. The role ensures safe community engagement, identifies hazardous areas, and leads a dedicated field team to reduce risk and support safe return or productive use of land.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise the NTS/EORE team on‑site, ensuring compliance with DRC SOPs.
• Obtain necessary permissions for NTS/EORE activities from relevant authorities.
• Plan and deliver EORE sessions to affected communities according to the work plan.
• Coordinate with safety and HMA units to gather district‑specific safety information before deployments.
• Monitor security alerts, establish evacuation routes, and develop evacuation plans with the Safety Unit.
• Manage technical equipment, inventory, and transportation, maintaining an up‑to‑date equipment list.
• Oversee team communications on‑site and during travel, following DRC communication SOPs.
• Produce timely reports on activities, quality, and quantity of work, logging them in the team communication logbook.
• Control the quality and quantity of field work to ensure alignment with the plan and SOPs.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising field teams in humanitarian or mine‑action contexts.
• Ability to secure permissions from local authorities and work closely with safety and HMA units.
• Strong awareness of security protocols and evacuation planning.
• Responsibility for equipment management and accurate reporting.
• Effective communication skills in line with organizational SOPs.
