Head Waiter

About the role

The Head Waiter at Isla bistro bar leads the dining floor of an authentic Italian bistro located by the sea in Jounieh’s old souks, operating from the Beirut site. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures every guest receives attentive, professional, and friendly service while supporting a close‑knit hospitality team.

Key responsibilities

• Organise table assignments and supervise the waitstaff throughout service.
• Take and deliver orders, coordinate with kitchen and bar, and ensure timely service.
• Train new and existing team members on service standards and bistro‑style Italian cuisine.
• Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and overall dining area appearance.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly to maintain high satisfaction.
• Support the manager in scheduling, inventory checks, and daily operational reporting.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Solid knowledge of food & beverage operations, especially Italian bistro service.
• Previous supervisory or lead‑waiter experience in a restaurant or bar.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple tables.
• Proficiency in English and the local language; additional languages are a plus.
