Field Application Engineer – BESS PCS & Lithium Batteries

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer / After‑sales Engineer specialized in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role focuses on power conversion systems (PCS) and lithium‑battery technologies, supporting installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of C&I and utility‑scale ESS projects across the MEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of PCS, BMS and EMS on site.
• Perform functional tests, performance monitoring and system diagnostics to verify compliance with project specifications.
• Ensure project milestones are met in line with company standards and customer expectations.
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers during field operations, providing clear explanations of system performance and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection forms and checklists.
• Deliver technical training to customers, service partners and internal teams and develop standard operating procedures.
• Enforce HSE standards, conduct on‑site safety inspections and manage tool and equipment handling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems or a related technical field.
• 4‑5 years of hands‑on field service experience with BESS, including commissioning and maintenance of C&I and utility‑scale projects.
• Proven ability to lead projects, work independently on remote sites and be on‑call during critical phases.
• Strong communication skills for training and customer interaction.

Required skills

• Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and Battery Management Systems (BMS) expertise.
• Energy Management System (EMS) and SCADA platform knowledge.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and control schematics.
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms for energy storage assets.
