English Teacher

About the role

SABIS International School in Adma, Lebanon, is looking for an English teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The teacher ensures students' academic success by implementing the SABIS curriculum and philosophy and applying the SABIS teaching methods. The school is part of a global network present in 21 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, and develop them from pacing charts when needed, applying the SABIS point system.
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System in the classroom and proctor exams in a properly managed environment.
• Support, guide and motivate academically low-performing students.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Assist with testing, substitution, lunch and bus organisation, crowd control and other administrative tasks.
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and sports, with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions and carry out other tasks delegated by school management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• English proficiency.
• A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
• Ability to meet country and local education and certification requirements, and to pass reference and criminal background checks.
