Education Officer – Non‑formal Education Programme

About the role

The Education Officer will support the delivery of Save the Children’s non‑formal education programme, working closely with the Education Coordinator and Programme Manager. The role is field‑focused, with 75% of time spent on‑site supporting partners, communities and beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to implementing partners to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of non‑formal education components.
• Conduct community outreach and awareness sessions, establishing mechanisms that promote access to formal education.
• Assist the Education Coordinator with budget monitoring and expenditure reporting.
• Participate in Training‑of‑Trainers sessions and facilitate trainings for parents, community members and educators.
• Collect, analyse and report data on Syrian refugees and other vulnerable children, focusing on programme targets.
• Work directly with children, educators, facilitators, parents and partner staff in the field.
• Provide information on education activities and refer beneficiaries to relevant social services.
• Maintain strict adherence to Child Protection Level 3 principles at all times.

Required profile

• Experience implementing non‑formal education programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Willingness to spend the majority of work time in the field (approximately 75%).
• Ability to adapt working hours during major emergencies.
• Understanding of child safeguarding Level 3 requirements.
