Education Associate (Formal Education/Systems)

About the role

The Education Associate will support UNICEF's Formal Education programme in Lebanon, focusing on the Dirasa initiative that serves 50,000 vulnerable children. Working under the Education Specialist (NOC), the role combines technical, programmatic and operational tasks to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of education interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with teacher payments, school fund disbursements and the operationalisation of second‑shift classes.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) to align policies, SOPs and frameworks such as the Accelerated Learning Programme.
• Conduct regular field visits to public schools to monitor programme quality, compliance and progress.
• Collect, consolidate and analyse programme data to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Document implementation bottlenecks, lessons learned and best practices for reporting and programme adjustments.
• Support the NOC Specialist and Education Manager in stakeholder engagement and policy development.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing and monitoring formal education programmes, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with education systems and coordination with government ministries.
• Strong analytical abilities to handle data collection, consolidation and reporting.
• Ability to conduct field visits, assess compliance and produce clear documentation.
