Community Mobilizer – Legal Information & Awareness

About the role

The Community Mobilizer for legal information and awareness will work within refugee and host communities in Lebanon to empower people with knowledge of their legal rights. Although not a licensed lawyer, the mobilizer receives targeted training and supervision from DRC legal and protection staff to deliver accurate, community‑focused legal guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Attend capacity‑building trainings provided by DRC as required.
• Conduct individual and group sessions to raise awareness on prioritized legal issues and explain how to access justice structures.
• Identify cases that need further legal assistance and refer them to DRC legal staff following established procedures.
• Use DRC service mapping tools to share information about legal aid services, partners, and other relevant providers.
• Distribute DRC service leaflets and promote the Complaint Feedback Mechanism/PSEA hotline during outreach.
• Report protection concerns, including child protection, gender‑based violence, and protection risks, to the appropriate DRC team.
• Maintain regular reporting on outreach activities and referral outcomes.

Required profile

• Member of the local community with a strong interest in legal rights and protection.
• Not a qualified or licensed lawyer but willing to receive and apply specific legal knowledge provided by DRC.
• Good communication skills to facilitate group discussions and one‑on‑one sessions.
• Ability to follow referral pathways and report accurately.
