Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager identifies new business opportunities, generates leads, pitches products and services to new clients and develops marketing and sales strategies. The role also covers building lasting customer relationships and developing entry-level staff into salespeople.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a growth strategy focused on profitability and customer satisfaction, and find and develop new markets
• Research new business opportunities, follow up leads and set them through the sales cycle
• Promote products and services, plan and deliver presentations, and write reports
• Attend conferences, meetings and industry events; build and maintain long-term customer relationships
• Develop quotations and proposals, provide after-sales support and feedback to management
• Train entry-level staff and oversee the development of marketing materials

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field
• 3 years of experience in sales, marketing or a related field
• Experience selling software business applications and development projects
• Proactive, able to work with minimal guidance and handle uncertainty

Required skills

• Strong communication skills and IT fluency
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
