Backend Developer – Integration Services

About the role

PPC MENA is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain reliable backend services and system integrations across its customer experience, commerce, loyalty, and data platforms. The role focuses on connecting internal and third‑party systems, creating scalable APIs, and orchestrating data flows to ensure secure and efficient information exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design and development of backend integrations between CRM, loyalty, commerce, POS, ERP, payment, order management, and customer data platforms.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, webhooks, middleware services, and asynchronous processes supporting real‑time and batch integrations.
• Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable integration solutions with clear data contracts and system mappings.
• Develop services for data transformation, orchestration, validation, synchronization, and error handling across multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with architects and functional teams to define integration patterns, API specifications, authentication approaches, and deployment strategies.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise integration performance, reliability, and observability in production and non‑production environments.
• Implement logging, alerting, retry mechanisms, fault tolerance, and auditability to improve system resilience.
• Support platform modernisation by integrating cloud‑based applications with legacy or third‑party systems.

Required profile

• Strong experience building backend services and integrations in distributed or enterprise application environments.
• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clean, scalable, and supportable technical solutions.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with project managers, solution architects, UX/UI teams, and platform specialists.
