Senior Specialist Service Operations – Application Support (Linux, Kubernetes, Ansible)

About the role

The Application Support Specialist ensures the availability, performance and stability of critical applications in a fast‑paced environment. You will work closely with development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot incidents, support deployments and drive continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2 application support, investigating and resolving incidents.
• Monitor application health using Elastic/Kibana and proactively respond to alerts.
• Support containerised applications running on Docker and Kubernetes, including basic troubleshooting of pods, services and deployments.
• Assist with automation and configuration management using Ansible playbooks.
• Support identity and access management solutions such as ForgeRock.
• Develop and maintain scripts in Python, Shell and Perl to automate operational tasks.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and continuous service‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5‑10 years of experience in application or systems support, preferably in an L2 production environment.
• Proven experience handling incidents, service requests and problem tickets within defined SLAs.
• Hands‑on knowledge of containerised applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using Elastic/Kibana for log analysis, monitoring and fault isolation.
• Working experience with Ansible for automation and environment configuration.
