Senior Accountant – Lebanon

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lebanon. The role involves overseeing accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and supervising junior staff to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting and financial operations for assigned clients and businesses.
• Supervise and review the work of junior accountants, ensuring quality and completeness.
• Record, classify, approve, and file all accounting transactions accurately.
• Prepare and review supplier, customer, bank, cash, and other account reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, advances, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Support payroll‑related accounting entries and maintain related schedules.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, handle additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
• Participate in inventory counts and investigate significant discrepancies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing procedures and prepare financial statements.
• Produce management reports, financial summaries, and analytical schedules.
• Analyze performance against budgets, identify variances, and communicate financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and approval authorities.
• Coordinate with clients, operations, HR, suppliers, and other departments to gather required financial information.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month‑end closing.
• Proven experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Good knowledge of Lebanese accounting and taxation requirements.
