Public Health Monitoring & Verification Consultant – Beirut

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Public Health Monitoring and Verification Consultant to support its Public Health Unit in Lebanon. Based in the IOM office in Beirut, the consultant will work across the South and Nabatieh regions, providing field verification, data collection, and reporting for health interventions targeting vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field verification and follow‑up of public health activities, ensuring implementation progress aligns with work plans.
• Collect, document, and analyse health data from shelters, communities, points of entry and health facilities.
• Prepare structured monitoring reports, identify operational gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health, NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Support the National Project Officer in overseeing field implementation and compliance monitoring.

Required profile

• Education: High school diploma with at least four years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health or related field with minimum two years of experience.
• Experience: Proven experience liaising with governmental and UN agencies, working with migrants, refugees or other vulnerable groups, and conducting field‑based health surveillance or humanitarian health programming.
• Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory; knowledge of French or other UN languages is an advantage.
• Travel: Willingness to undertake regular field visits in the South and Nabatieh areas.
