Medical and Health Coordinator – Lebanon

About the role

The Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM USA) is seeking an experienced Medical and Health Coordinator to provide strategic and technical oversight of its health portfolio in Lebanon. The role involves ensuring high‑quality primary health care (PHC) services, integrating mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and strengthening partner capacity across Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and the Bekaa.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership for PHC, MHPSS, NCD, maternal‑child health, and communicable disease prevention programmes, ensuring alignment with MOPH policies, WHO guidance and Sphere standards.
• Conduct regular supportive supervision, technical monitoring visits and quality‑assurance audits of partner facilities, reviewing clinical protocols and service delivery plans.
• Develop and update SOPs, clinical guidelines, training materials and quality standards; advise partners on corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Represent UOSSM USA in health sector working groups, coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health, WHO, UN agencies and donors, and strengthen referral pathways.
• Support MEAL activities by defining health indicators, reviewing partner reports, and documenting lessons learned for evidence‑based decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing PHC programmes and integrated health‑MHPSS interventions in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Strong knowledge of national health regulations, WHO technical guidance, Sphere standards and donor compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor partners, conduct technical trainings and lead quality‑assurance processes.
