Protection Case Worker (x2)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring two Protection Case Workers in Bekaa. The Case Worker implements comprehensive protection case management for people at heightened risk, under the supervision of the Protection Senior Case Management Officer. The role combines a standard office setting (20%) with field work (80%).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct household visits and centre-based interviews to assess client and family needs.
• Develop and implement action plans with clients and families, involving them in decisions that affect them.
• Assess risk, link clients with support groups and community resources, and provide information on rights and entitlements.
• Receive referrals from registration, psychosocial, outreach and other activities, and monitor, review and close cases with complete documentation.
• Provide psychosocial counselling and coordinate services from other specialised providers.
• Manage and store data confidentially, prepare weekly and monthly work plans, and support monitoring and evaluation.
• Take part in weekly reporting and planning meetings, and contribute to keeping service maps up to date.
• Receive referrals from other agencies, lobby on behalf of individuals and families, and help them represent their views in meetings.

Required profile

• 2 to 3 years of previous work experience in case management (mandatory).
• Experience with refugee populations and in cross-cultural environments preferred.
• University degree in social work, psychology or a related field preferable.
• Fluency in Arabic and clear written and spoken English.
• Ability to work overtime when needed and to handle pressure; confidentiality, respect and non-discrimination of beneficiaries.
