Head of Maintenance Department

About the role

Mets Energy is looking for an experienced Head of Maintenance Department to lead its maintenance operations for diesel generators and power‑generation systems. The role combines technical leadership, team management and close coordination with other functions to ensure reliable, available power equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the Maintenance Department, including engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Plan, monitor and execute preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance activities.
• Ensure reliability, availability and performance of diesel generators and related equipment.
• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting engines, alternators, control systems and electrical/mechanical faults.
• Oversee field‑service teams, respond to customer requirements and coordinate spare‑parts logistics with Stores, Procurement, Supply Chain and Sales.
• Monitor department costs, productivity and KPIs; prepare and present maintenance reports to management.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OEM recommendations and company standards.
• Identify training needs and develop the technical capabilities of the maintenance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with diesel generators or power‑generation equipment.
• Proven experience managing maintenance teams and field operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, planning, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Customer‑oriented with excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Valid driving licence.

• Maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Navision/ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar, Perkins, Cummins, Volvo or MTU generator brands.
