General Accountant – Accounts Payable & Payroll

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented General Accountant to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, focusing on accounts payable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will ensure accurate recording of transactions, timely supplier payments, and preparation of monthly financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, match them with purchase orders and delivery documents, and record them in the system.
• Prepare and execute supplier payments, reconcile balances, and resolve disputed invoices.
• Run monthly payroll, handling salaries, overtime, deductions, leave, and related adjustments.
• Verify attendance records, coordinate with HR for employee changes, and update payroll data.
• Record daily accounting transactions, post journal entries, and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations, correcting any discrepancies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Prepare the monthly Income Statement (P&L), review revenues, expenses, and payroll costs.
• Compare actual results with budgets or prior periods and highlight significant variances.
• Produce supporting schedules and management reports, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong exposure to accounts payable and payroll.
• Solid understanding of income statements, general accounting principles, and financial closing processes.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Independent work style with the capacity to meet monthly reporting deadlines.

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
