Finance Officer - Beirut

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Finance Officer to join its Beirut office. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will handle day‑to‑day financial processing, month‑end close, and ensure compliance with IRC policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review payments, clearances and petty‑cash expenses, preparing related entries in Integra.
• Prepare, monitor and upload monthly data source entries; finalize transactions before posting.
• Implement internal controls and ensure data accuracy in Integra.
• Reconcile cash and bank accounts, prepare adjusting entries, and process bank letters and transfers.
• Maintain organized filing within the finance department and support supplier reconciliations.
• Verify local purchase requests for budget availability and correct coding.
• Coordinate finance activities to meet headquarters‑defined closing timelines.
• Assist during audits and donor visits by providing required documentation.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an NGO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Sun accounting system.
• Familiarity with Integra financial software.
