Senior Associate, Internal Audit

About the role

Grant Thornton Lebanon is looking for a motivated Senior Associate to lead internal audit, risk assessment and governance engagements for banks and financial institutions. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders to strengthen risk management frameworks and internal controls across a diverse portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute internal audit assignments for banks in line with IIA standards and local regulations.
• Perform risk‑based audit planning, covering credit, treasury, deposits, ITGC, digital banking and regulatory reporting.
• Evaluate internal control effectiveness, identify weaknesses and propose remediation.
• Conduct enterprise risk assessments, map controls and assess governance and Board oversight.
• Prepare high‑quality audit reports, present findings to senior management and audit committees.
• Maintain direct communication with client CFOs, CROs and compliance officers.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities and support fee proposals and budgeting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of internal audit experience within banks or financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations (BDL, CBI) and Basel requirements.
• Knowledge of COSO framework and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
• Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA or CPA are a strong advantage.
• Fluent in Arabic and English with excellent communication skills.
