Field Coordinator

About the role

The Field Coordinator supports the Project Manager in planning, implementing and monitoring humanitarian assistance activities across multiple sites. This role ensures that distributions of kits, vouchers, cash and cash‑for‑work are carried out efficiently, safely and in line with organisational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in assessments, define resource needs and raise any delays or challenges.
• Coordinate weekly and monthly priorities with the Project Manager and develop movement plans.
• Maintain and update SOPs and conduct regular outreach with municipalities, local authorities and community leaders.
• Plan and supervise distribution of NFI, CRI, food, WASH, shelter, voucher and cash‑for‑work activities.
• Visit activity sites, shelters and target communities to monitor progress and identify risks.
• Prepare purchase requests, timesheets and allowance payments using AVSI tools and follow up with logistics.
• Ensure safety and security of beneficiaries, staff and equipment during field operations.
• Manage field assistants and volunteers, organise meetings and prepare attendance and implementation plans.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting in collaboration with the MEAL team.
• Assist emergency response operations, including rapid assessments and post‑distribution monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian field coordination or project implementation.
• Ability to work closely with local authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills for planning, supervising teams and managing documentation.
• Capacity to identify risks, propose alternatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
